Today enjoy a sightseeing tour to see what Vancouver is all about. Start your day off in historic Gastown with its cobblestone streets, quaint café’s and shops. Continue to Stanley Park named one of the 20 best parks in the world in 2017. Experience aboriginal culture at the Stanley Park totem poles, take a walk along Vancouver’s iconic Seawall and enjoy beautiful views of the Vancouver Downtown, North Shore Mountains and English Bay.
In the afternoon, head to North Vancouver and visit the impressive Capilano Suspension Bridge. Originally built in 1889 the bridge stretches 450 feet/140 meters across and 230 feet/ 70 meters above the Capilano River. As it is a traditional suspension bridge it is a shaky walk only for those who dare. Cross the bridge for a spectacular walk through temperate rainforests that is home to giant tree varieties such as Western Red Cedars and Douglas Firs.
Leave the hustle and bustle of Vancouver for the serenity of nature. Today’s journey takes you through the stunning coast mountain ranges into wine country. British Columbia’s Okanagan region is one of Canadas largest wine producing regions and is also home to many fruit orchards. Enjoy this dry, sunny climate during a visit to one of the regions 182 wineries. Here you can enjoy fresh farm to table fare with while tasting some of the area’s finest reserves. For dessert perhaps you can stop at a roadside fruit stand serving up fresh local produce. To top it off enjoy a beachfront sunset on the shores of Okanagan lake.
During today’s route you will be trading in the vistas of the flowery meadows of the Okanagans for the dramatic landscapes of the Canadian Rockies. We are following the Trans-Canada Highway on the trails of history, making a quick stop at the “Last Spike” at Craigellachie. It was here where the Canadian Pacific Railway was completed by driving the last spike into the rails. En route, enjoy the stunning mountain vistas in Glacier National Park as your tour passes along historic Rodgers Pass. Next stop is Yoho National Park. Named by one of Canada’s First Nations, the Cree People, Yoho means “Awe and Wonder”. With 28 peaks over 3000 meters, the thunderous Takakkaw falls (one of Canada’s highest) and the brilliant color of Emerald Lake you will soon understand where the park got its name. We end the day in the town of Banff. Take in the impressive Mount Rundle and other surrounding peaks from the top of the Banff Gondola (optional addition) or enjoy the quaint village with its shops and multitude of restaurants for some leisure time.
It’s time to check off some bucket list items as we explore Banff National Park, Canadas oldest national park. Although it is very popular with tourists, the town of Jasper has the authentic feeling of a sleepy rocky mountain town. It serves as a gateway to Jasper National Park, the largest National Park in Canada. Today we will wind through the limestone walls of Maligne Canyon and witness the power of water and how its carved the deepest Canyon in in the park. Next, we continue to the mysterious Medicine Lake, which disappears into one of the most extensive underground water systems in the world. Today’s final highlight is at Maligne Lake. Enjoy “the best boat cruise in Canada” and take a snapshot of one of Canadas most photographed lakes from the world-famous Spirit Island.
It is time to bid farewell to the Rockies and head west again. Today we pass the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Towering over its neighboring peaks, Mt. Robson stands at 3,900 meters tall.
